Reflection on Jan-June

I started the year in PT for shoulder/arm/elbow pain. My condition, 6 months later is better, largely because I was mindful of my actions (better mechanics with carrying/lifting, better ergonomics of workstations, and fewer physical assists while teaching) and I changed my behaviors (asked for help when needed and suspension of Friday classes.)

TYG welcomed friends with neurological disorders to a huge kick-off Open House to highlight specialized classes on Fridays Feb-June 16.

The “Mastering Mindfulness” class at UC-Olli attracted an audience of 80+!   Also in Feb., I offered calming activities for 50 Special Olympics participants at St. Ursula HS. TYG also conducted adapted yoga classes for LADD friends every Fri.

In March our Sat. class enjoyed meditation with Svastha teachers and many others participated in the “Ayurveda for YOU!” workshop with Dr. G. Mohan followed by a series of workshops for Anxiety & Depression by Kelle Greeson with ELM.

April 10th I completed a 6-week course on Fall Prevention at Premiere Physical Therapy following the National MS Society protocol.

May 4th I worked with Clyde Gray for Cincy Lifestyle on WCPO TV. May 22nd TYG hosted the second offering of “Fitter Sitters”/ UC-Olli and on May 26th, the Fit3D studio was officially closed with much help from the Wenderfers.

June 7th Robin Anton interviewed me on iHeart Radio’s “American Dreamers” (WKRC.) This session was fun and informational about what we do at TYG and how yoga therapy differs from traditional (or misconceptions of) yoga. June 9th TYG hosted “Neurobicize Me…Exercises for your Brain” with Pat Faust and the “Hydration Challenge” is running from June 10-July 7th.
